Mid Devon is known for its rolling hills, open woodlands, rivers and verdant valleys, teeming with wildlife, making it an ideal area for walking holidays and nature spotting, it’s perfect for family holidays, anyone who wants to make memories and couples seeking to get away for a romantic break.The quality of the natural environment is matched by the richness of its cultural heritage and history, with links to St Boniface, Devon’s patron saint and strong roots to the wool trade and lacemaking, which is evident throughout its architectural heritage.

Mid Devon has a variety of indoor and outdoor attractions catering for adrenalin seekers or relaxed getaways. The area can entertain you and your interests from a muddy assault course to driving a digger, walking around an ancient motte and bailey to going up, up and away, or wildlife spotting along the Grand Western Canal, which is also home to one of the last horse-drawn barges in the UK. Sport tourism is big in Mid Devon from fishing, organised shoots, golf, horse-riding and walking / cycling.  There is so much to see and do in Mid Devon you can discover something new each day.

Local produce pours out of the cafés and restaurants with an array of vineyards and microbreweries to sample as well as an award-winning bakery in Bampton. Not only that, but being equidistance from the coast, the countryside and some of Devon's top foodie destinations means that wherever you choose to get a bite to eat or quench your thirst, you can be sure of the freshest, seasonal ingredients. Taste Mid Devon will guide you through the seasons or check out the Farmers’ markets which take place in our three main towns of TivertonCrediton and Cullompton.

The area boasts a wide variety of accommodation from friendly B&Bs and farm stay experiences (the real Devon lifestyle), self-catering or glamping in yurts and tipis – we have it all. If you are looking for full indulgence and complete relaxation then we have some historic country manors and top independent hotels to meet your needs. For those that just want to do their own thing there are quiet holiday parks and good quality campsites dotted throughout the area.
