Day 1: Lyme Regis → Seaton
Distance: approx. 11 miles (18 km)
Starting in the historic coastal town of Lyme Regis, the route follows rugged cliff paths westwards into Devon. The path climbs and descends frequently, passing remote coves, chalk cliffs, and open coastal slopes. Expansive sea views and classic Jurassic Coast scenery define this demanding opening stage before descending into Seaton at the mouth of the Axe Estuary.

Day 2: Seaton → Sidmouth
Distance: approx. 13 miles (21 km)
Leaving Seaton, the path follows the Axe Estuary before climbing onto exposed coastal cliffs. This stage combines quieter inland stretches with dramatic clifftop walking, passing through the picturesque village of Beer and over Beer Head, one of the highest points on the south coast. A steep descent brings the route into Sidmouth, set beneath striking red sandstone cliffs.

Day 3: Sidmouth → Budleigh Salterton

This demanding stage leaves Sidmouth with a sustained climb onto high clifftops, offering wide views across the English Channel. The route alternates between exposed coastal paths and quieter inland sections, passing farmland, woodland, and open heathland. After crossing the Otter Valley, the path descends towards Budleigh Salterton and its long pebble beach.

The final stage offers a gentler end to the journey. Leaving Budleigh Salterton, the path follows red sandstone cliffs and coastal heathland before reaching Orcombe Point, the western gateway to the Jurassic Coast. The route then descends into Exmouth, with estuary views and easy walking along the promenade to finish.
