Start/End point: Lime Kiln Car Park: what3words///hops.clumped.trump
This scenic, low-traffic cycling loop starts and finishes at Lime Kiln Car Park, heading out immediately onto quiet country lanes through West Clyst towards Broadclyst. The route then picks up a beautifully surfaced National Trust shared-use path, passing Clyston Mill and Markers Cottage as it gently enters the heart of the Killerton Estate.
Riding through the estate offers a peaceful stretch of traffic-free cycling beneath mature trees and rolling parkland, leading to Killerton House, a key landmark and optional pause point. From here, the route continues on tranquil countryside lanes towards Poltimore House, where Branches Café provides a welcoming stop for coffee and cake.
Leaving Poltimore, the loop turns back through gently undulating farmland, returning via quiet lanes through West Clyst before closing the circuit at Lime Kiln Car Park. The ride is relaxed and sociable, with a mix of smooth tarmac and well-maintained off-road paths that keep traffic to a minimum throughout.
