If you’re feeling in the spirit and want to take the kids to personally explain their Christmas lists to the man himself, here is where you can find him around Devon this month.
Father Christmas is obviously very busy at this time of year, but don’t worry, he is dividing his time as equally as possible, so no matter where you are in Devon, you can easily bag a meeting with him.
South Devon
Woodlands Family Theme Park, Dartmouth
Running every weekend until 18th December and then daily until 23rd December, you can meet Father Christmas and his elves at Woodlands’ Santa Grotto. Grotto tickets need to be purchased at least 24 hours before you visit.
Visit Pennywell Farm for a visit for Santa and a host of cite animals as well as a chance to join in with the nativity. Book tickets before visiting.
Torquay’s Fleetwalk shopping area is holding their own Grotto to raise money for local charities. Family tickets need to be booked in advance.
For a grotto with a difference, visit Kents Cavern for their Santa in the Caves experience. Running between 3rd and 24th December.
Mid Devon
House of Marbles, Bovey Tracey
A Santa Grotto will be at House of Marbles every weekend through to Christmas, with additional events being held on 19th, 20th, 21st and 22nd December. There are tickets available via Eventbrite as the sessions are timed. They are even hosting a Santa’s Grotto for pets!
Powderham Castle, Kenton nr Exeter
Powderham is hosting a Christmas at the Castle, which includes an evening walk around the lights and a chance to visit Father Christmas in his grotto. Running all the way until 31st December, there is a fee per child to visit the grotto.
North Devon
Milky Way Adventure Park, Bideford
As part of the park’s Christmas activities, you can meet a host of elves, have a go at making reindeer food and then visit Father Christmas for a gift. Book your visit to see Father Christmas when booking your park tickets.
Clovelly’s Christmas Lights, Clovelly
Taking place on December 4th, the man himself will be making a visit to the village as part of the Christmas Light Switch on event. There is an entrance fee for the village, so head to the visitor centre after 2pm to pay and park.
East Devon
Stuart Line Cruises will be running their annual Christmas trips around the River Exe where you can meet Santa in his on board grotto. Advanced booking is essential, there are various sailing times running between 3rd – 22nd December.
Head to Seaton for the Polar Express! Passengers are encouraged to travel in their favourite pjs for a hot chocolate and to see the lights before meeting Santa and receiving their first Christmas gift of the year. Book your tickets in advanced.
You will also be able to catch sight of Santa at Princesshay in Exeter where he will be hanging out in his festive lodge until Christmas Eve. On the 17th and 18th, he will even host signed sessions using Makaton.
