Torquay's Dinosaur World is a fun interactive indoor exhibition of dinosaurs and fossils!
This award-winning attraction is the only one of its kind in the south west and has over 70 full size and scaled dinosaurs set in realistic scenes each with detailed information to read and learn about dinosaurs. There are excavation sites where you can uncover fascinating fossils, dinosaurs that you can sit on if you are brave enough, a fun family Dinosaur Explorer Quiz and many other interactive exhibits. See the world of dinosaurs brought to life!
See Amazing Life Size Dinosaurs
Imagine what life was like when these monsters roamed the earth as you walk past and get up close and personal with our life-sized dinosaurs. See if you are brave enough to grab a Triceratops by its horns, touch the deadly Dimetrodon, or even put your head in the fossilised skull of the scariest dinosaur ever – the monstrous Tyrannosaurus Rex.
Scale Dinosaur Dioramas
With so many dinosaurs to learn about we have scaled dinosaurs set in hand-made dioramas to show how these amazing creatures lived. Each with detailed information, visitors can see each dinosaur in their natural habitat and learn about their incredible lives. See the mighty Spinosaurus as it fights the Ankylosaurus, the Styracosaurus as it protects its young, or learn about Palaeontology and how fossils are made.
Discover Fascinating Fossils
Have you ever wanted to hunt for dinosaur fossils? Then why not become a fossil hunter in one of the excavation sites! Carefully brush through the sand and discover a whole host of rare claws, teeth and bones! Will you find a Baryonyx claw, a T Rex tooth, the horn of a Triceratops or the Velociraptor skeleton?
Sit on deadly Dinosaurs
Brave explorers can even sit on some of the most fearsome creatures to ever walk the earth, such as the deadly Deinonychus and the mighty Deinosuchus, or sit on more friendly dinosaurs like Tilly Triceratops and Camilla Camarasaurus. Take a picture and show everyone how brave you have been.
Fun Family Dinosaur Explorer Quiz
And why not take part in the fun Dinosaur Explorer Quiz and get the chance to win a Dinosaur Expert Certificate – it’s great for all the family and helps every age and ability understand about the wonderful world of dinosaurs. What will you learn?
Dinosaur Gift Shop
Once you have braved and survived the world of dinosaurs all the explorers can browse through the Dinosaur World gift shop to find a perfect souvenir. There are dinosaur models, hatching dinosaur eggs, fossil digs, real fossils, books, Dinosaur World T-shirts and much much more! Our Gift Shop is open to non-visitors too.
Throughout the year we hold a variety of very popular events, such as the February Fossil Festival, the Easter Dinosaur Egg Hunt, and the Dinosaur half Term Halloween Horrors, which make a visit to Dinosaur World that little bit different. And explorers at these events get the chance to win prizes too. More details about the events are available on our website ‘What’s On’ page.

Dinosaur World is perfectly situated in the heart of the picturesque town of Torquay, next to the inner harbour, and easily accessible by road, rail or foot. There are several pay and display car parks within 5 minutes walking distance, and the railway station is only a 20 minutes’ walk away.
Whether you are little dinosaur fans, or even big ones, there’s something for everyone to get their teeth into at Torquay’s Dinosaur World!
Pick up our Paleo Pass with your entry ticket to get FREE unlimited re-entry for 3 months.
Follow the sign posts for Torquay town centre and the harbour. We are located on Victoria Parade by the inner harbour and the Clock Tower roundabout. For sat navs our post code is TQ1 2BB but be wary as the final instructions direct you off the Clock Tower roundabout on to Park Lane, which is a small side street with a dead end. Once the Sat Nav has directed you to the Clock Tower roundabout you should see the dinosaurs outside on the pavement.
Torquay’s Dinosaur World does not have its own parking facilities, but the town has many public pay and display car parks. The closest car parks are Lower Union Street, the Harbour, Meadfoot Road and Beacon Quay. For further information about Torquay car parks please click here.
