Harford Bridge Holiday Park, Peter Tavy, Tavistock recently won its third annual Visit Devon Tourism Award: a ‘Gold’ for ‘Best Camping and Caravanning Park of the Year 2021-22’.
Since the 1960s this well-known, independently owned park 2-miles from Tavistock has been a place for family friendly holidays in self-catering accommodation as well as camping and caravanning with over 100 parkland pitches near the River Tavy to enjoy.
Paul Williamson said: “The Gold accolade is Harford Bridge’s third consecutive win in these prestigious county wide awards for excellence, innovation and resilience – on 10th March we achieved the top award to add to our previous ‘Bronze’ and ‘Silver’.
We think it’s the result of our total commitment, over more than 35-years in our family ownership, delivering a quality guest experience that’s been independently measured through annual grading assessments by VisitEngland and The AA. We offer our guests free Wi-Fi and a mobile app as well a traditional grass and parkland camping experience with all the amenities of a 5-star park.
We provide value for money with excellent facilities in West Devon, a wonderful part of the county, very close to thriving Tavistock and within Dartmoor National Park.
In 2021 we were listed as a Motorcaravan ‘Top 100’ site and a ‘Premier Park’; so to ‘top’ the 2021/22 Visit Devon awards is for us a considerable further achievement and real recognition for our hard working team that includes locally recruited staff and wardens, supplemented with self-employed tradesmen and contractors."
Afternote: On 15th March 2022 we were thrilled to achieve a ‘Commended Award’ in the regional South West Tourism Awards 2021/22.
[1] The awards cover the whole of Devon, including the English Riviera and Plymouth, as well as Dartmoor and much of Exmoor. The 12th year of the competition saw tourism businesses face ever-changing challenges, but the focus on excellence, innovation and resilience remained as relevant as ever. In parallel, many found time to become significant contributors to the Devon’s efforts to support key workers and those facing hardship.
[2] The Williamson family own and operate the park. Paul Williamson is Head of Park Operations.
