Devon has plenty of great beaches all over the county, from the gorgeous blue flag beaches in North Devon which are perfect for watersports to the popular resorts of the English Riviera like Torquay, Paignton and Brixham. Whatever you want from a beach holiday, you’ll find it in Devon. If you want a day with stunning views and the chance to get active, make sure to head to the beaches in Woolacombe, Croyde, Saunton or Ilfracombe. If you want a beachside walk, head towards Exmouth or if you want to do a spot of rockpooling, go to places like Beer. For those of you wanting a traditional family friendly beach resort, south Devon is the place to be. Some beaches have restrictions for dogs over the summer, but there are a number of beaches and coves that are happy to welcome dogs all year around, so even they can join in the fun.
Over the summer it can be tempting to shy away from anything educational, but if you want to keep your minds active, there are plenty of ways to do so in Devon. Many organisations offer workshops and courses over the summer that are perfect for all the family from cookery sessions to art workshops. Take a look at our what’s on to find out more!
