As this week is Afternoon Tea Week, the team at carehome and retirement living organisation, Lottie, have taken on the challenge to find Britain’s best location for an Afternoon Tea and have discovered that Totnes in Devon is the 3rd best in Britain!

As the county that invented the cream tea and continues to produce the best home made scones, jam and cream, we’re not surprised that Totnes features in the top ten. We did notice that our friends over the border didn’t make it into the Top 20 though…

The top 20 is as follows:

  1. Bowness on Windermere, Cumbria
  2. Belpar, Derbyshire
  3. Totnes, Devon
  4. Carlisle, Cumbria
  5. Llandudno, Conwy
  6. Rye, Sussex
  7. Dorchester, Dorset
  8. Bexhill, Sussex
  9. Knaresborough, Yorkshire
  10.  Kendal, Cumbria
