According to a recent study by My Favourite Cottages, Saunton Sands is Devon’s most instagrammable tourist hotspot after the company checked the region’s #s during National Picnic Month, which aimed to get people out and about and enjoying nature.
The list also included several Visit Devon members, including Pennywell Farm and Powderham Castle, as well as National Trust locations like Killerton, Saltram and Knightshayes. It wasn’t just Saunton Sands flying the flag for the North Devon coastline, number two on the list was the beach at Clovelly and number 6 was Saunton’s neighbour, Croyde Bay. North Devon has recently been named as the UK’s first World Surfing Reserve and both Croyde Bay and Saunton Sands are popular choices for surfers, swimmers and holiday makers, particularly as both beaches are large and easily accessible.
According to the research, the top 10 locations loved by Instagrammers in Devon were as follows:
1 – Saunton Sands
2 – Clovelly Beach
3 – Burgh Island
4 – Exmouth Beach
5 – Saltram
6 – Croyde Beach
7 – Killerton
8 – Powderham Castle
9 – Pennywell farm
10 – Knightshayes
As well as compiling the region’s top ten most Instagrammed locations, My Favourite Holiday Cottages also put together some advice for visitors. They said: “Ensure you clean up after your visit, respect the locals and keep safe.”
