Devon is full of incredible attractions, so to help you make the most of your visit, here’s a list of top tips from Paignton Zoo so you can create a truly memorable experience.
Get the best prices and book online
For great savings it pays to book online. Many attractions in Devon will also give you the option to add a gift aid donation. If you are a UK taxpayer and you make a donation (gift aid) that is 10% more than the admission, the government will give us 25p for every £1 of your entrance fee. Paignton Zoo is one such attraction and gift aid is incredibly important as it is a registered charity and donations help to support our conservation work in the UK and overseas. Aside from looking out for gift aid, by booking online in advance, you can often get the best prices for admittance attractions across Devon.
Wear comfy shoes!
Devon’s attractions offer a full day of fun, so wearing comfy shoes is highly recommended! You’ll certainly get your steps in but don’t worry there are plenty of options to re-fuel during your adventure, as most of the region’s attractions have refreshments on offer including takeaway kiosks, burger shacks, a pizzeria and restaurants.
Download a map
If you have the option, make sure to download a map of the site this will help you plan your day better, so you can fit everything in and not waste time looking for your must-see activities.
Check activity times
Several places have additional events and activities, so make sure to check the times before you arrive so you don’t miss out on anything. At Paignton Zoo, there are regular talks so you can find out more about the incredible creatures that call the zoo home. Our talk times, as well as free activities, can be found on our website here.
If at first you don't succeed, try again!
Devon’s attractions are some of the best in the UK so they can sell out or have long queues for certain rides or activities. At Paignton Zoo and other similar places, some of the animals are active during the morning after their breakfast, and some prefer to stroll around in the afternoon. If you haven’t been lucky enough to spot your favourite animal, hop on your favourite ride or take part in your favourite workshop, be sure to check again before you leave, because you never know, you might get lucky!
