Flight Club, the lively fairground-inspired cocktail and Social Darts® bar, has confirmed today that it will open its doors in Exeter on Friday 11th December, perfectly timed for Christmas and New Year get-togethers with friends and family. The team behind the globally renowned bar and entertainment spot has also shared a sneak peek of what the new addition to Exeter's nightlife will look like through an artist's impression.
This marks the 17th Flight Club to open in the UK. The newest Flight Club will be located at 79–82 Queen Street, just a one-minute walk from Exeter Central station. Spanning two floors and with space for up to 300 guests, the eagerly awaited venue will bring Social Darts, cocktails, sharing food and high-energy entertainment to the heart of the city.
And for Flight Club, the Exeter opening is a particularly special one. The story of Flight Club began in a Devon pub, and this year, it's coming home. In 2012, Flight Club co-founders Steve Moore and Paul Barham were catching up in a Devon pub when they spotted a young crowd going wild over a game of darts. That moment sparked the idea for what would become Flight Club, which launched its first venue in London's Shoreditch in 2015.
Flight Club is built around bringing groups together for an unforgettable time. When the one-of-a-kind bar and social experience lands in Exeter this winter, locals will be treated to a buzzing venue with craft cocktails, sharing dishes and fast-paced games designed to get everyone involved.
Ahead of the official opening, Flight Club is giving guests who sign up to join the Exeter community something special. As part of an exclusive soft launch from Monday 7th to Wednesday 9th December, sign-ups will get free Social Darts and 25% off food and drink. Exeter locals should sign up to Flight Club's soft launch here to take advantage of the offer and be one of the first to experience the brand-new venue.
So, what can Exeter expect to see when Flight Club opens its doors?
The setting
All of Flight Club’s venues are designed to look spectacular, inspired by a Victorian fairground combined with a traditional British pub. Think carnival-style lights that blink in time to the music, carousel horses and little touches throughout that evoke all the nostalgia of a load of fun at the fair.
The Exeter venue will occupy the former Revolution site on Queen Street, transforming the two-floor space into Flight Club’s signature fairground-inspired world.
When the doors open on 11th December, the brand-new venue will be fully decked out for the season of joy, with plenty of Christmas trees and festive oches to get everyone in the party spirit.
The menu
Food on offer at Flight Club consists of crowd-pleasing sourdough pizza paddles, sharing platters and small plates. Drinks include a mix of signature cocktails and classics with a twist, with food and drinks delivered directly to guests while they play.
Festive treats on the menu will include cocktails like Sleigh My Margarita – a marg with flavours of cranberry and cinnamon, and Winter Hugo – the well-loved spritz given a seasonal spruce up with a dash of spiced berry cordial. Christmassy nibbles
The vibe
This is a place where you can bond with your besties over brunch, catch up with colleagues over a post-work cocktail or dance with your ride-or-dies to DJ sets late into the night. And of course, there's the option to unleash your competitive side with a spot of Social Darts.
Whether you're planning a Christmas gathering, birthday party, student night, work social or simply looking for somewhere to bring the group together, Flight Club is designed to make a night out a little more unexpected.
The games
Flight Club has given the game of darts a serious makeover. Its version – Social Darts – is made for groups and can be played by literally anyone, whether a darts sniper or total novice.
The reimagined version of darts uses clever tech to deliver fast-paced, immersive games, with seven multiplayer games available to play. There's auto-scoring and loads of on-screen action, while cameras track every throw and capture the best moments – including those all-important winning celebrations.
Bottomless brunch
Also, on offer every Saturday and Sunday at Flight Club, is a bottomless brunch of dreams. Plenty of booze, great food, and an epic time are guaranteed. The two-hour brunch session includes 60 minutes of gameplay at the oche, a bottle of prosecco per person and unlimited pizza throughout. Tickets cost from £33pp.
Steve Moore, CEO and co-founder of Flight Club, said, "Devon is where the idea for Flight Club was first born, so opening the doors in Exeter feels like an incredibly special full-circle moment. We can't wait to welcome the city through our doors this December and show Exeter what a mix of Social Darts, cocktails and a bit of fairground magic looks like."
