Half term excitement at Bovey Castle

After all the stress of the first term back at school, it won’t just be the kids who will want to take a break this October half term. Whether you’re looking for something to blow off some steam or somewhere to relax and ignore the ever increasing mountain of homework, you’ll find something to entertain the whole family at Bovey Castle.

Located within the Dartmoor National Park, Bovey Castle is perfectly placed for adventure activities – find plenty of hiking and walking trails, orienteering sessions or even take part in the Dartmoor tradition of Letterboxing – there are no end of activities across the National Park but if you want even more to choose from, take a look at a selection from the  action packed programme being offered by Bovey Castle this half term below:

• Falconry
  Falconry displays take place at the hotel every Sunday-Friday and is complimentary, so all guests can take part at no extra charge
• Take a tour of the deer park
  Learn more about the estate’s history and meet some of the resident deer with a guided tour hosted by one of Bovey’s deer keepers. This activity is priced at £20 an adult, with 1 free child per adult.
• Take a carriage ride around North Bovey
  From the hotel, enjoy a ride on Bovey’s own shire horse and covered carriage to the village of North Bovey where you can enjoy the scenery and learn more about Dartmoor. Carriage rides are £250 for a 6 person trip or £70 per person.
• Spend some time with the resident animals
  Whether you want to collect the chicken eggs for breakfast or watch a fun ferret race, guests are welcome to join in with these activities for free.
• Take part in some sports
  Bovey Castle offers a range of sporting activities, including croquet and tennis free for hotel guests. Or try your hand at archery, which is £35 per person.
• Play a few rounds
  Whether you’re a seasoned pro golfer or want to give it a go during your stay, Bovey Castle’s championship golf course is perfect for golfers of all levels.
