This holiday season, South Devon Railway is inviting guests on board its newly reintroduced Christmas Dining Car for an unforgettable festive experience.
Running on select Tuesdays leading up to Christmas — 26th November, 3rd, 10th, and 17th December — this exclusive event combines a luxurious journey through Devon’s beautiful winter landscape with a four-course gourmet meal made from fresh, local ingredients.
Guests can choose from two sittings per day, with a 1pm lunch and 7pm evening service, departing from the beautifully decorated Buckfastleigh Station.
Upon arrival, diners are welcomed by a crackling fire in the ticket office and a complimentary seasonal drink to set the mood. Gluten-free and vegan menu options are available, ensuring a memorable meal for everyone.
Each journey on the South Devon Limited Restaurant Car lasts over two hours, offering plenty of time to soak in the charm of this classic train ride while enjoying attentive, at-seat bar service and the comfort of a cozy first-class setting.
At £79 per person, the ticket includes the scenic train fare, a first-class upgrade, a welcome drink, and all four courses of the meal. Drinks are available to order from the train's at-seat bar, adding to the indulgent experience.
