Electric Bay Festival returns to Torquay’s Torre Abbey Meadows on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th July 2027 to celebrate its fifth anniversary. Following a break in 2026, the festival will bring two days of music to the English Riviera, with Pete Tong Presents Ibiza Classics with Tom Richards Essential Orchestra headlining Saturday. Sunday’s line-up will be announced soon.
One of the most influential figures in electronic music, Pete Tong MBE has spent more than three decades shaping dance music as a DJ, producer, A&R and the voice of BBC Radio 1’s dance programming. His acclaimed Ibiza Classics show brings together some of the most celebrated anthems in dance music, reimagined and performed live by the Essential Orchestra, conducted by Tom Richards. Ibiza Classics began in 2015 for a performance at the late-night BBC Proms, bringing a 65-piece orchestra to London’s Royal Albert Hall to reinterpret the soundtrack of Ibiza’s club culture. The show celebrated its tenth anniversary in 2025 with four sold-out performances.
Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Torquay’s golden sands, Electric Bay 2027 will bring major dance and drum and bass artists to the English Riviera, with Torre Abbey Meadows providing a stunning open-air setting overlooking the bay.
Firmly established as one of the most exciting music festivals in the South West, previous editions have featured Carl Cox, Chase & Status and Pendulum, alongside DJ EZ, Example, Hybrid Minds, Joel Corry, John Digweed, Kurupt FM, Sub Focus, Wilkinson and Hedex. The anniversary weekend will mark the festival’s highly anticipated return, with further artists still to be announced.
Cllr Jackie Thomas, Cabinet Member for Tourism, Culture and Events and Corporate Services for Torbay
Council, said: “We are delighted to welcome Electric Bay back to Torbay in July 2027. Events like this are an important part of our commitment to delivering a diverse year-round programme that appeals to different audiences and showcases Torbay as a leading destination for culture, music, and entertainment.
“Electric Bay attracts thousands of people to Torbay, many of whom stay overnight, helping to fill our hotels, restaurants, bars and hospitality venues throughout the weekend. The most recent economic impact survey showed the 2025 festival generated more than £1 million for the local economy and saw crowds of 10,000 people attend on the Saturday alone.
"By continuing to encourage a varied programme of high-quality events, we are supporting local businesses, attracting new visitors and encouraging more people to discover everything the English Riviera has to offer. We look forward to welcoming festivalgoers back to Torbay in 2027 for another fantastic Electric Bay weekend."
A spokesman for Beatz & Bobz said: ““After a year away, we’re really looking forward to bringing Electric Bay back to Torquay for its fifth anniversary. Torre Abbey Meadows is a special place to put on a show, and Pete Tong’s Ibiza Classics feels like a brilliant way to celebrate our return. We’d like to thank Torbay Council and its
Events Team for their help and support in making it happen. We’ve had some fantastic weekends here with the Electric Bay crowd, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone back in July."
