Award-winning Boringdon Hall, a five-star 16th Century manor hotel in Devon, has unveiled plans for their new sleep spaces with a focus on wellbeing. Mixing luxury with health, the 12 wellness rooms, 2 wellness suites and an additional relaxation room boasting outdoor hot tubs aim to be hubs for those who are passionate about caring for their total wellbeing.

Redefining the concept of relaxation and well-being, the careful selection of natural elements and earthy tones creates an atmosphere to instantly put guests at ease, transporting them to a realm of ultimate relaxation. Offering a harmonious blend of elegance and tranquillity, each wellness room and suite has been meticulously crafted to envelop guests in a cocoon of calmness, providing an unparalleled escape from the chaos of everyday life.

Inspired by the manor’s grounds and countryside location, the colour palette and textures chosen for the interiors of the new rooms and suites harness nature, that of Mother Gaia, boasting natural elements and neutral colours throughout. Laura Cameron, Operations Director, who led the interiors said: "We wanted to carry the design and interiors from the spa through to the wellness rooms and suites to evoke a sense of calm and relaxation, drawing inspiration from the grounds. As they are nestled into the side of Dartmoor, we have pulled the colours and textures of nature into the rooms using natural materials and natural colours.”

The lighting design has been carefully calibrated to create a serene ambience whilst large floor-to-ceiling windows will bring the outside in, flooding rooms with light. In addition, walls throughout the new build will be home to living moss, naturally contributing in a more sustainable way to remove toxins from the air and replace with clean, fresh oxygen.

Equipped with the expected hotel necessities such as robes and spa amenities from GAIA Skincare, the hotel’s new additions will offer an array of health & wellness amenities including yoga mats, mindful literature and wellness care kits aiding each guest to become grounded and present, alongside nutritious-led refreshments. The 2 wellness suites feature luxurious rain showers and private outdoor spa baths.

Conveniently located near Gaia Spa, guests can slowly wander and enjoy breakfast or brunch in the spa’s relaxed Spatisserie restaurant. Boasting two outside terraces overlooking Dartmoor, the calming dining space gives guests the opportunity to sit and soak in the picturesque views whilst enjoying a menu of nourishing dishes.

Guests will have access to Boringdon’s award-winning spa, Gaia (referring to the Goddess of nature in Greek mythology) which offers a truly magical swimming experience in a stunning, natural setting. Floor-to-ceiling windows surround the indoor pool, providing peaceful vistas of the trees, and an inter-connecting outdoor hydrotherapy pool that allow visitors to swim seamlessly from inside to out. The spa, named “Best Destination Spa” by Condé Nast Johansen in 2022, 2020 and 2018, also boasts a Crystal Salt Steam Room, Herbal Sauna, Experience Showers, Outdoor Hot Tubs, Treatment Rooms, and a Deep Relaxation Room.

Guests can opt for a selection of luxurious GAIA treatments* during their stay including facials, massages and scrubs, as well as longer, step-by-step holistic treatments known as GAIA rituals. Targeting different problem areas of the body and mind, various GAIA rituals are available including GAIA Crystal Therapy; using personalised crystals, and GAIA Raindrop Therapy; using pure essential oils. All treatments use the award-winning, organic and all-natural GAIA Skincare products, which were developed in-house at the spa.

The new wellness rooms and suites are available to guests from 18th August 2023 with prices starting from £205 per night in a wellness room and from £490 per night in a wellness suite including breakfast, complimentary membership to Gaia Spa facilities and classes and 10% off any spa treatments booked.
