In new research from Travelodge, Devon has claimed the title of Britain’s second top staycation destination, only being narrowly beaten by our neighbours, Cornwall.

The 2023 Summer Travelodge Travel Index shows that despite recent issues with the cost of living, 63% of Brits have booed a holiday this year with 72% choosing a staycation.

According to a spokesperson at Travelodge: “Our latest research shows that Britons are prioritising and taking a well deserved staycation this summer, despite the rising cost of living and Devon is the second top staycation destination.”

With its diverse landscape and array of holiday resorts, we’re hardly surprised that Devon has rated so highly. With beaches, rural idylls, two National Parks, two coastlines and the UK’s first world surf reserve – Devon is the perfect place for a summer staycation – so make sure to book your holiday now!
