Crealy Theme Park and Resort has announced that Rotor, the South West’s only inverted ride, will officially open on Friday 31 July. This major new attraction marks a significant moment for Devon’s tourism industry and continues Crealy’s evolution into one of the region’s leading destinations for family thrills.
A Landmark Addition to Devon’s Theme Park Scene
Rotor is Devon’s first inverted ride and has been designed to deliver a high‑energy experience that spins, flips and surprises riders from the moment it begins. The attraction introduces a style of thrill ride not currently available anywhere else in the county, making it a standout addition for visitors seeking something new this summer.
The launch follows the successful introduction of Pirates’ Plummet earlier in the season. Now recognised as the tallest drop tower experience in the South West, Pirates’ Plummet has already helped redefine Crealy’s offering. Rotor builds on this momentum and strengthens the park’s commitment to investing in innovative experiences for families.
A Milestone Moment for Crealy and Devon
Josh Haywood, Managing Director at Crealy Theme Park and Resort, described the opening of Rotor as a major milestone for both the park and the wider region. He said that Rotor represents a statement about the quality of experiences available in the South West and reflects Crealy’s ambition to bring unforgettable attractions to Devon.
Continuing a Legacy of Growth
Since opening in 1989, Crealy has grown from its origins as Crealy The Great Farm Adventure into one of Devon’s most popular family attractions. Over the years, the park has introduced a wide range of rides and experiences, including the Flying Dutchman, which became the tallest ride at Crealy at 40 feet high. Rotor now takes its place as the next chapter in this story of development and innovation.
