Tar Barrels, Ottery St Mary.
Saturday, 5th November, 7pm.
This traditional event has been taking place for generations and involves residents carrying flaming tar barrels in a fire lit procession through the centre of the village towards a large bonfire – it’s a West Country pastime you won’t find anywhere else, so if you’re in the area, make sure to get yourself to Ottery!
