Two separate studies carried out by both Big 7 Travel and radiator manufacturer Stelrad have revealed the UK’s prettiest places, with Brixham and Clovelly being included.

Stelrad’s survey used a host of travel and lifestyle websites to come up with a list of 82 known picturesque spots, with Devon and Cornwall coming in joint second with six destinations each in the list. Brixham came in number 10, leading the way for several other Devon locations including Hope Cove, Beesands, South Pool, Dartmoor and Clovelly.

Big 7 Travel’s study looked at 50 places across the UK, Clovelly being ranked 26th. They described the village as “An Elizabethan beauty” and a “village frozen in time.” Clovelly remains one of the UK’s only privately owned villages and was originally owned by the crown, it is a tourist attraction in its own right and is popular with visitors, particularly around Christmas time.
