Post from Boutique Retreats
Boutique Retreats have more than 150 luxury holiday homes all across the UK, giving you the chance to experience a break in a boutique hotel whilst providing the privacy and flexibility of your own space.
They already have a wide range of properties to choose from in Devon but have recently unveiled their two latest properties in the region.
The Bothy is a retreat found in the heart of Dartmoor close to Chagford on a beautiful estate dating back to 1840 that was once a hotel and the writer, Mary Wesley, author of the Camomile Lawn, also resided there for a time. Hidden away on Dartmoor, the Bothy can be found in an unspoilt, quiet spot, next to a farm giving you the peace and relaxation that you need.
This property is a true bridge between boutique hotel and self-catering cottage and is a perfect retreat for couples or single travellers, though it isn’t suitable for babies or young children. The Bothy has its own private garden with extensive views over Dartmoor, as well as a summer house and access to a tennis court and croquet lawn. It doesn’t matter what time of year you visit, as you’ll find wax coats, wellies, binoculars, brollies and maps all left for you, so you can explore the area to your heart’s content.
The second property is also in the Dartmoor area. The Thornworthy Barn is a cosy and welcoming country pad for four, perfect for romantic couples or groups. Thornworthy is tucked away in a courtyard and beautifully restored, it is a wonderful escape to unplug from busy lives and embrace the peace and tranquillity that this little piece of heaven offers, with nothing by open moorland all around.
You’ll find two stunning ensuite bedrooms on the ground floor, with king sized beds and each one designer fabrics including Ralph Lauren and Mulberry as well as a country-chic slate grey kitchen with a dual range cooker, two fridges, a dishwasher and more.
Both these properties are great places to go for a quiet break, with amazing sites like Kestor Rock, Fernworthy Reservoir and Thonworthy Tor. A little further afield is the village of Chagford which has a range of amenities. Bovey Castle and Gridleigh Park are also nearby for anyone who wants to visit some of Devon’s top attractions.
If you fancy staying in one of Boutique Retreat’s other properties, they currently have a range of just for two and lower occupancy discount rates. Take a look on their website for more information.
