We are delighted to announce our series of concerts and organ recitals for 2024! Full information is available in our latest brochure, available now around the site, and online here: https://bit.ly/4236bIj
This year’s series includes a Passiontide performance of Bach’s St John Passion by the University of Exeter Chapel Choir, and several concerts by local choirs. Alongside their ever-popular Christmas concert, which will this year feature Britten’s Ceremony of Carols, the Abbey Choir will give two further concert performances this season: Duruflé’s Requiem on All Souls’ Day, when the choir will be joined by the Southern Sinfonia, and a sequence of music for Corpus Christi in June, including the world premiere of a new Mass setting by Martin Baker.
Our Ruffatti organ continues to attract some of the world’s finest recitalists, and in 2024, we add Jeremy Filsell, Loreto Aramendi and Simon Johnson to our roster. In October, the Abbey’s new Organist, Charles Maxtone-Smith, makes his recital debut here. Whether you attend a service, concert, or organ recital, we look forward to welcoming you, and hope that you will enjoy the splendid array of sacred music we have on offer during 2024.
Tickets are available to book now on our website (https://bit.ly/3vr6FLS) or in person from the Abbey Visitor Welcome Centre.
Did you know that you can dine before any evening concert at the restaurant at Northgate House or at our pizzeria, San Benedetto’s? Drinks are also available in the bar at Northgate.
