Escape to the peace and tranquillity of a farm stay overlooking the Devon coast and relax in 4-star holiday cottages and lodges. A Lower Campscott farm holiday is perfect for families, couples and groups of friends with big holiday homes, large lodges and cosy cottages to choose from. It’s the ideal family friendly holiday, allowing the whole family to reconnect with nature, explore the beauty of North Devon and enjoy the freedom that a farm holiday can provide.
Everyone is welcome to join in with the daily animal feeding, explore the farm and take a tractor and trailer ride. You can even bring your dog! All the cottages and lodges are dog friendly with enclosed gardens and plenty of space to walk them.
Eight well-equipped self-catering cottages and lodges sleep from 3 to 8 people with group accommodation for up to 40 - more if some would like to camp. Our large family friendly home, Pinetree Lodge, sleeps eight and is ideal for several families or groups of friends and the smallest, Stable Cottage, sleeps three plus a cot, so is perfect for a couple or young family. Why not book the whole site for 40 people and enjoy a get-together in our function room which has its own kitchen?
Each self catering holiday cottage and lodge has all the comforts of home – washer-dryer, dishwasher, Freesat TV and WiFi – and is heated by our eco friendly wood pellet boilers which provide unlimited heating and hot water. All part of our commitment to green holidays and sustainability.
Children can help Farmer Tony feed the animals every day and make friends with Shetland Ponies, collect the eggs, cuddle baby lambs in spring and explore the farm. The animals on the farm are incredibly popular with our younger guests, you can meet our family of rabbits and guinea pigs, all are friendly and available for cuddles! There are also pigs, pygmy goats, Devon long-wool sheep and Dexter cattle to meet and feed.
The games room with pool table, table tennis and table football will keep everyone entertained and you’ll find lots of information leaflets with ideas for days out here too. Board games, puzzles and DVDs are available to borrow from the Farm Shop which sells tasty farm-produced meat, home-cooked meals, grocery essentials, cakes and treats. The shop is fully licensed and stocks a selection of wine, Devon ciders and local beers – just what you need for a relaxing sundowner as you watch the sun set over the sea.
For the young at heart, there is an outdoor play area overlooking the sea and a large covered barn for indoor games, barbeques overlooking the sea and a quiet camping field for tents and caravans. There’s lots to do for the whole family without even having to leave the farm!
Lower Campscott is set in 35 acres of glorious Devon countryside within our own private and picturesque valley overlooking Lee Bay, making it a perfect destination for your trip to Devon. There is no traffic noise, just peace and tranquillity with the sound of nature and birdsong. If you want to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life, the area is abundant with wildlife and fresh air with stunning sunsets and clear night skies. This is really the perfect place for nature lovers, enjoy our beautiful wild flower meadow, wildlife pond and bug hotel. The valley is home to badgers, foxes, pheasants and even bats and owls so if you tread quietly you will most likely spot them. The peace and tranquillity on the farm is the perfect antidote to a busy life – immerse yourself in nature, walk the South West Coastal path, follow the footpath to Lee Bay and the village pub or take a short drive to stunning Valley of the Rocks and beautiful Exmoor.
All of North Devon’s wonderful places are only a short distance away, you’re within minutes of the coast, where you can enjoy award-winning golden beaches including Woolacombe, Saunton, Putsborough and Croyde. You can explore the Victorian sea side town of Ilfracombe, again only a short distance away, with the fascinating Tunnel Beaches, its quirky museum, working harbour and Damien Hirst’s iconic Verity statue.
