The Langstone Cliff Hotel has been owned and run by the Rogers family since it was originally purchased as a 12-bedroom house in 1946 by Stanley and Marjorie Rogers. The Hotel has been regularly expanded, refurbished and updated in the intervening 70+ years and now has 64 en-suite bedrooms and a host of facilities Stanley and Marjorie would not have dreamt of. The Hotel is situated in 19 acres of Devon woodland overlooking the sea and Exe Estuary with ample free parking for over 200 cars and or coaches. Plentiful open-air seating and sun loungers are provided on the acres of lawns and also the Victorian Verandah which enjoys spectacular views of the sea and Exe estuary. All public areas can be accessed on the level and there is a lift and four staircases available to the first-floor bedrooms. There is a fully accessible toilet available in the foyer of the Washington suite. There is good access to public transport with a scheduled bus stop opposite the hotel entrance and a main line railway station at Dawlish Warren a few hundred metres away, Dawlish Station which is approximately 1.5 miles from the hotel has a more regular service. The Hotel offers a wealth of facilities for receptions and events with rooms available to accommodate up to 400 guests in air-conditioned comfort and smaller rooms for parties as small as half a dozen. Many of the rooms have spectacular sea views. The Langstone Cliff Hotel offers a wide selection of catering from afternoon teas, through light buffets, to formal sit-down meals. The Lincoln Restaurant is open every day for Breakfast from 7.30am till 10.00am and Dinner from 6.30pm – 8.30pm and also on Sundays for our popular carvery Sunday Lunch. The Lincoln restaurant offers a new menu every day which is predominantly English in style but with a smattering of continental dishes added. We offer a choice of 4 Starters, 4 main courses plus vegetarian and cold buffet options with a selection of seasonal items, 4 sweets plus Ice creams followed by cheese and coffee or tea if you prefer. There are two bars in the hotel offering a wide range of draught beers, lagers, and ciders, a selection of wine and a wide range of spirits, the bars can also offer a comprehensive snack and light lunch menu from 11.30am - 8.30pm each day. The Hotel is open all year round and offers a wide variety of entertainment with children's entertainers most evenings during the summer holidays. Several themed weekends for Valentines, Easter and our excellent Langstone Specials and Loyalty weekends with cabaret evenings. The Langstone Cliff Hotel is also well known for its variety of Dance holidays utilising the magnificent Washington Ballroom. There are several large, recently refurbished, comfortable lounges enjoying spectacular sea views in which to relax and a very pleasant Victorian Verandah overlooking the sea and Exe estuary. The 64 bedrooms are constantly being updated many have sea views, 17 rooms have balconies, many rooms have air conditioning and or king size beds. There are 10 bedrooms on the ground floor and all of these rooms have walk-in showers, 4 of these rooms have baths with showers over as well. For the more active the Hotel has a wealth of leisure facilities, including an Indoor Heated Swimming Pool and an Outdoor heated Swimming pool (early May to mid-Sqrtember). A Tennis Court, Indoor and outdoor Table Tennis, a full-sized Snooker Table, Table football, a Fitness room with a Treadmill, Cross Trainer, Rowing Machine, and Exercise bike, a small spa offering a variety of Holistic and Beauty Therapies and our own Hairdressing Salon, "Headstrong". There is also a golf practise area in the hotel grounds and we can offer reduced fee golf and Dawlish Warren Golf Course
The Hotel Postcode is EX7 0NA. If using a satellite navigation system (Sat Nav) please ignore the instruction to turn Into Week Lane (very narrow, impassable for large vehicles) and continue on to the main road juction by the Shops or by the harbour at Cockwood.
From Exeter and the North
Leave the M5 by junction 30 and follow signs for Dawlish on to the A379, for about 8 miles through Kenton and Starcross. Then turn left by the small harbour, half a mile after the village of Starcross. Once you are In Dawlish Warren, the road turns right, up the hill - the Langstone Cliff Hotel is on your left. Alternatively, continue to the end of the M5. Take the A380 for Torbay, then take the left turn for Starcross - the B3381.
From Plymouth and the West
Take the A38 towards Exeter leave the A38 at Exeter Racecourse following the signs for the Racecourse. Turn Left at the mini roundabout and proceed towards the A380 at Telegraph Hill. Cross the bridge at this junction and proceed down the B3381 to Starcross.
From Newton Abbot or Teignmouth
Follow the A379 through Dawlish about I mile then take the right hand turn signed Dawlish Warren. After just under a mile - the hotel is on the right.
By Bus The No.22 Bus stops opposite the hotel driveway. By Rail Book to Dawlish. The station is only two miles from the hotel, where there is a taxi rank. Dawlish Warren Station is within walking distance but please see the detailed directions on the website (avoidable steep hill).
