Grosvenor House Torquay

About

Grosvenor House is a charming husband and wife run licensed guest house, situated in a quiet but central Torquay location, just behind the newly restored Torre Abbey, in the stunning English Riviera on the beautiful South Devon coast. From the many Guest Houses, Hotels and B&B accommodation in Torquay, we are in one of the best positions as a base to see Torquay and the English Riviera.

Just 400 metres from the Riviera International Conference Centre, we are especially well located for those guests attending one of the many conferences, events or seminars. And for those of you solely here on business, free Wi-Fi is available throughout.

Grosvenor House is within easy walking distance of the beach, town centre, Princess Theatre, and Torquay Harbour, with a picturesque marina. Buses stop outside and Torquay Station is also very close by.

Nearby attractions include the thatched cottage village of Cockington, and Greenway House, Agatha Christie’s home.

If it is walking that you enjoy, Grosvenor House is ideally placed for many varied walks along the South West Coastal Path, or inland on Dartmoor and in the South Hams.

Your hosts, Paula and Ray continue to receive outstanding reviews for our warm hospitality, cleanliness, comfort and cuisine.  It means we have the pleasure of welcoming back our guests time and time again, indeed many are now firm friends.

Our aim is to make your stay as pleasurable as possible, whether here on business, visiting family or friends, on a romantic break, or in Torquay to enjoy the stunning sights, sounds and attractions, the Riviera has to offer.

All of our rooms are en-suite with showers, have digital freeview TV, complimentary beverage tray and welcome toiletries. Free Wi-Fi is also available throughout. We have a number of room configurations including double (also for single occupancy), king, superking/twin and superior rooms, as well as rooms which will accommodate a family of 3 or 4, so whatever your party size, we aim to meet your requirements.

Our licensed bar offers an opportunity to meet friends old and new, and enjoy our range of local bottled ales and cider, lagers, a selection of wines, popular spirits, with or without a mixer. Teas, coffees and soft drinks are, of course, also available.  Why not enjoy your drink on our sun-trap patio.

We also have a separate lounge with large screen TV and a selection of games/quizzes for all ages, and a small selection of books, including many by local author, Agatha Christie.

Breakfast is served in our comfortable dining room, and offers a selection of cereals, porridge, fruits and juices and yoghurts. A full cooked selection is always available, including traditional ‘Full English’ plus any combination of items, with special orders also available. Why not finish off with some toast and preserves, and to drink a selection of fine teas and coffees.
If you are celebrating a birthday, anniversary or other special occasion, why not bring the whole family, and let us help make your celebration. We can organise anything from champagne or chocolates in your room, to helping you plan a whole weekend of activities. Just give us a call to discuss your requirements.

All in all, we think you’ll find Grosvenor House a welcoming and comfortable base to explore the local attractions, both natural and man-made, and we look forward to welcoming you to the beautiful, sunny, Riviera.
