It is a unique location easily accessible within driving reach of Bristol, Exeter and Plymouth, for those wanting to leave the car behind for their break, Totnes is served by a mainline station and is just 1.5 miles from our estate.
Dartington Hall is a stunning Grade I listed heritage property set within a 1,200 acre private estate near the ancient market town of Totnes. 50 distinctive bedrooms located around a medieval 14th-century courtyard offer a superb mix of heritage and comfort where you can remove yourself from the hustle and bustle of modern life. We are one of Devon’s top wedding venues, boasting 5 licensed ceremony rooms accommodating 40 wedding guests for intimate ceremonies and up to 150 of your guests in either the impressive Upper Gatehouse or for outdoor ceremonies, the Loggia, within our Grade II* listed Private Garden.

The magnificent Great Hall with original leaded windows and oak hammer beams, provides the perfect backdrop for your wedding breakfast for between 50 - 150 of your family and friends. Our Chefs are committed to providing you with a delicious wedding breakfast. We support local producers, some from our own estate, and offer only seasonal, locally sourced produce in our menus. With a range of options to suit all tastes and appetites and an emphasis on fresh, locally sourced ingredients, our on-site cafes/restaurant offers something for everyone.

There is a wide film programme including independent, world and mainstream cinema, seven days a week at the 14th-century Barn cinema located within the grounds.
This is an exciting time for Arts at Dartington. We have our Summer School just around the corner in August, which as well as bringing a lot of fabulous musicians together, means a month of concerts, with three performances most nights, including folk, jazz as well as classical. We have all kinds of craft courses too, covering everything from beekeeping, printmaking to artisan baking. Meanwhile Dartington Live moves into its second season this autumn, with a host of exciting, original live art events– watch out for this year’s family friendly Christmas show, which was a great hit last year.
