About

The five AA red star Bovey Castle is history, excitement, glamour and adventure, holding an unrivalled position within a 275-acre estate on Dartmoor National Park. Where else can you wear your Hunter Wellies at 8am, Golf Spikes at 3pm and Manolo Blahniks for dinner. But while we offer our guests luxury and indulgence, this is not a stuffy hotel where you can’t sit on the furniture or let your kids enjoy themselves.

With the hotel’s luxury accommodation divided between 60 recently refurbished, uniquely- appointed rooms and 22 lodges, the estate includes an 18 hole championship golf course, two restaurants - Smith’s Brasserie and the 3AA Rosette Great Western, event and conference facilities, an Elan spa with ESPA products and one of the most extensive selections of activities to be found at any hotel, including off road driving experience, cider and sloe gin making, archery, tennis, falconry and fishing. Bovey Castle is a place where you can live out your dreams, then put your feet up.

Using local food producers is integral to Bovey Castle, with ingredients sourced from the moorland and coastline to create seasonally changing menus in Smith’s Brasserie and in The Great Western, overseen by head chef Mark Budd. The quintessentially English affair that is afternoon tea retains its ceremonial glamour through its evolving choice of delicacies, enjoyed in the art deco surroundings of the Great Western restaurant or in the warmer months enjoyed on the terrace.

With accessible links to every major transport network, including a high-speed service from London Paddington and flights between London City and Exeter, Bovey Castle is the unrivalled location for any number of occasions, be it a family get together, sporting holiday, romantic escape or corporate retreat.

Lodges at Bovey Castle

SELF CATERING Stylish, contemporary and unashamedly indulgent; the Bovey Castle estate hides 22 three-storey country lodges within its grounds, all in keeping with the environment beyond. Each lodge has three en-suite bedrooms and almost all are laid out over three floors, sleeping up to eight people in total.* They also have a full kitchen with fridge, freezer, oven, dishwasher, microwave, and an open plan lounge and dining area leading on to a balcony with views over the grounds. All the hotel facilities and housekeeping services are still available for your use, giving you all the benefits of Bovey Castle and all the independence you desire too. *Maximum of six adults and two children (accommodated in additional beds) per lodge.

Bovey Castle Awarded 5 Red AA Stars

The Eden Hotel Collection is delighted to announce that Bovey Castle, in Dartmoor National Park in Devon, has been awarded five red stars by the AA.

Bovey Castle’s Great Western Restaurant awarded 3 AA Rosettes

We are delighted that the Great Western Restaurant has been awarded three rosettes by the AA for its culinary excellence. Restaurants with the coveted three rosettes are deemed to be outstanding establishments that demand recognition well beyond their local area and just 10% of the AA’s restaurants achieve this level.

Christmas and New Year at Bovey Castle

During the whole of December, the hotel will be transformed into a winter wonderland. Relax in one of the plump armchairs in front of a roaring log fire. Take your pick from tables laden with seasonal fruit and snacks. Feast your eyes on the twinkling Christmas trees and sparkling decorations illuminating every room.

If you can manage to tear yourself away from the hotel’s numerous delights, make the most of our idyllic location within Dartmoor – one of only 15 National Parks in the UK. As well as the wonderful scenery, various festive events in local towns and villages over Christmas are worth visiting during your stay.

Come and celebrate Christmas or the New Year with us. Visit our website to view our Christmas brochure
and see all that we’ve got going on.
