What's On in Kingsbridge

Being at the head of the Salcombe Estuary, Kingsbridge is one of Devon’s most southern points and can be found right in the heart of South Hams. As an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, it is a charming and beautiful place to visit for a stroll, especially around some of the town’s smaller streets where you’ll find hidden treasures or as a shopping destination. The town is a haven for independent family run businesses with everything from bakeries to butchers to fishmongers and of course, a host of intriguing antique shops and gift shops. As well as being charming and picturesque, the town has plenty of things to see and do

Regular calendar of events

The town has an enthusiastic and friendly atmosphere which is further highlighted during the regular events such as the Kingsbridge Food and Music Festival where visitors can enjoy fresh local produce while relaxing to live performances from local musicians. This three day event showcases a whole host of local tastes and sounds in the centre of the town, you really can’t miss it! Aside from being free to attend, it is suitable for all the family with a diverse musical line up as well as mouth-watering cuisine inspired from around the world.

The winter months are especially busy as Kingsbridge Celebrates Christmas takes over the events calendar in the lead up to the festive season. Other highlights in Kingsbridge’s busy calendar include regular farmers’ markets, workshops and concerts as well as the Kingsbridge Show which takes place every September.

This yearly event features a whole range of stalls and things to do for the whole family. In recent years, there have been a number of entries in a range of subjects including Horticulture, Arts, Floristry and pets as well as agriculture. For the children there are bouncy castles and a display of classic cars and live music.
