The Box, Plymouth’s newest cultural experience has refurbished their onsite café and bar, offering new opening times, revised menus and a whole new setting, providing one of the most interesting and unique dining experiences in the city.

The Box opened in 2020 to help celebrate Plymouth’s dynamic history and features galleries and displays showcasing its fascinating past alongside a host of wonderful artists from around the world. Over the last two years, it has quickly become a firm favourite with residents and visitors alike, even gaining a Special Commendation as European Museum of the Year 2022.

The Box Kitchen and Bar now boasts a unique setting, with customers able to dine beneath an impressive flotilla of fourteen giant Royal Naval ship’s figureheads, creating a whole new dining experience. As well as redesigning the restaurant itself, visitors can now also enjoy extended opening, with a late opening until 8pm on Friday and Saturday, allowing you to enjoy a meal before going out for the evening or heading to the theatre, so you have even more opportunities to soak up the culture. Now under the management of new chef, Matt Dell, the Box Kitchen and Bar features an exciting new menu with locally sourced ingredients, options for the kids and dishes suitable for a range of dietary requirements.
