Brand new for summer 2021, Wooladon Estate’s Kingfisher Barn has been lovingly renovated to offer a cosy, contemporary one level, one bedroom apartment that can sleep up to two guests.
On arrival, guests enter via the French doors to find a light, airy living area with a modern shaker style kitchen, dining and sitting area. The kitchen is fully equipped with an integrated dishwasher, washing machine, fridge and freezer and an electric oven with a ceramic hob – perfect for cosy, romantic, self catering breaks. The living room also has a large freeview TV and there is WiFi throughout. In the cooler months, the estate is warmed with Miscanthus (also known as Elephant Grass) and wood from the estate’s woodland. The grass and wood is also used to fuel the onsite biomass boilers, providing sustainable hot water all year around.
The bedroom has a king sized bed, with a TV and two recessed windows with a view across the terrace and the bathroom has a WC, vanity unit and walk in shower.
Kingfisher Barn is set within a private estate and working farm nestled in the Tamar Valley, enjoying the beauty and tranquillity of the Devon countryside, yet is only a couple of minutes from the main A30, with easy access to the beaches and tourist attractions of both Devon and Cornwall. Alternatively, laze the days away in the secluded garden overlooking the stunning countryside.
Guests are welcome to bring their dogs, up to two can be accommodated at an additional charge. The surrounding woodland is dog friendly as are the riverside walks through the estate or bring your bicycles and ride the estate tracks. Guests are also welcome to use the estate’s picnic tables and dish for carp in the lake.
While there is a fully equipped kitchen in Kingfisher Barn, guests can take advantage of freshly prepared meals from the award winning Strawberry Fields Farm Shop and Restaurant, which are available for collection or delivered straight to the door! Open every day, there is always freshly baked bread, pastries and cakes and the shop features a deli and butchers, as well as freshly picked fruit and veg.
There is parking outside the barn, leading to a private, fenced paved terrace with garden furniture and a BBQ for guest’s use. Electric charging points are available at the Strawberry Fields Farm Shop and Restaurant and there are additional charging points in Lifton Village, which is just a short trip away.
