As we all start winding down for Christmas you might be wondering how to get the team refreshed and ready to tackle 2022. One way to rebuild your team’s morale is through team building activities and wellness days and there are plenty of options for you in Devon! Here are a few of our suggestions for the best places for a fun, corporate day out in 2022.
With two national parks, plenty of wonderful activity centres and the North Devon coast known as Britain’s Adventure coast, there are no shortage of options for team building days.
One option that would suit everyone from the thrill seekers to the quieter members of the team would be one of Stuart Line Cruises’ private and corporate voyages. With their fleet of modern vessels, the team offer everything from unique conference venues to team building exercises and more! A sail around the beautiful East Devon Area of outstanding Natural Beauty and the Jurassic Coast is a wonderful way to inspire your team and get them motivated for a new year.

If water based adventures sound like the sort of thing that would suit your team, book a session with Canoe Tamar. On the canoe trips, you can explore the River Tamar and see the stunning scenery that the area has to offer. Your team will work together to complete the course which winds its way up past Okel Tor and Gawton Quay and under the instruction of the expert leaders, you can find out more about the history of the region as well as the wildlife you can spot along the route.
Alternatively, there is the North Devon Wake Park. Here it doesn’t matter whether you’ve been on a wakeboard or surfboard before, it is the perfect place to get started and get motivated with the team. The aquapark is set on the outdoor lake, or there is cable wakeboarding, paddleboarding or ringo, all complete with expert instruction! Even the most nervous of the team will be conquering their fears and ready to take on new projects when they’re back in the office!
For those of you who like a challenge and want to take on a range of different activities, visit Skern Lodge, which offers everything from archery to abseiling and just about everything in between. As Skern Lodge is located in the north of Devon, you also have easy access to the region’s many surfing beaches where you can enjoy a whole new adventure. Similarly, there is Roadford Lake where you can create your own itinerary of teambuilding activities to suit the strengths of your team and get them working together on a variety of challenges. Set in the Wolf Valley, this site is surrounded by beautiful scenery and has a team of instructors on hand to talk you through everything, covering trout fishing, sailing and high ropes.

If your interest was piqued by the idea of trout fishing, why not give fly fishing a go? The Arundell estate is one of the best sites for Fly Fishing in the county and is perfect, whatever your experience. Located at the confluence of five rivers, the Arundell has 22 miles of private fishing on some of the most beautiful rivers in Devon. Not only that, but you also have access to the hotel’s restaurant and facilities, making it a good destination for anyone wanting to really spend some time away from the office.
If you want to get away from water based activities, take a look at Crag 2 Mountain, based on the ever inspiring Dartmoor National Park. Offering accessible and affordable adventures, the instructors make climbing, mountaineering and caving challenging and fun. Not only that, but each of the activities on offer can be tailored to you and your team, creating an experience that is just as unique as they are.
Another option would be to enjoy a few rounds of golf and there is no where better than North Devon which is home to one of the oldest golf courses in the country! There is an 18 hold course at Highbullen Hotel which is perfect for a round with friends or colleagues and has the perfect balance of challenging and rewarding shots.
