In new research from Zoopla, it has been discovered that South Devon’s Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is in the top ten most popular UK beauty spots for home hunters.
As a result of the pandemic, the expectation for people to work from the office full time has changes with remote and hybrid working now widely accepted by employers across the UK. To make the most of this opportunity, home hunters have been re-evaluating their city lifestyle hoping to take advantage of working from home with greener pastures in sight. With this in mind, it is no wonder why South Devon’s AONB makes an appearance.
Speaking about the research, Zoopla’s Consumer Spokesperson, Daniel Copley, said: “Remote working has become a catalyst to the property market book post Covid and has opened doors for many homeowners who’ve jumped at the chance to relocate for a different, quieter pace of life.
“For London commuters, homes in the Cotswolds offer easy access should they need to return to the city and for remote workers, who want to get away for good, there’s plenty of beautiful areas in Scotland offering a peaceful and secluded lifestyle.”
Out of the top ten popular UK beauty spots for home hunters, just two are based in the South West and eight are found in the South of England.
The top ten is as follows:
Cotswolds
Kent Downs
Chilterns
High Weald
Cornwall
Gower
North Wessex Downs
Surrey Hills
South Devon
Wye Valley
