12th January 2021

While the latest UK lockdown may be reason to frown, the team at the Sharpham Trust are preparing for what is shaping up to be a very positive year for them.
Thanks to loyal friends, the Trust’s crowdfunding campaign, which aimed to help them survive through the covid 19 crisis and also help them publish a vegetarian/vegan cookbook featuring 80 mouthwatering recipes and compiled by team member, Janet.
The campaign was launched last year with the aim to raise £30,000 to help safeguard the trust for future retreats and events as well as to help with the land and to continue plans to support nature through their organic growing and farming systems. So far, the campaign has reached just under £22,000 and with pledges still coming in, is on track to hit the target needed. Since April 2020, the Sharpham Trust estimates that they have lost around 60% of their annual income and that the support from donors has meant that they can continue with their work once life returns to normal.
Not only have they had positive news regarding their crowdfunder, but the Trust has been receiving rave reviews in recent national publications. The Guardian newspaper featured the Sharpham Trust, which is based in Totnes, in their travel section, praising their online Retreats at Home programme, listing them as the fifth best virtual wellbeing retreat of the year.
If that wasn’t enough, The Telegraph also featured their retreats listing them as one of the places to go for a 2021 retreat and the Sharpham Trust were also named as Retreat of the Year in the February edition of Psychologies Magazine! All in all, a positive start to the year!
The Sharpham Trust can be found on a historic estate near Totnes, featuring a Georgian manor house, known locally as Sharpham House and surrounded by beautiful countryside, as well as having excellent views over the River Dart, their retreats are perfect for anyone looking to recharge in a calm and friendly environment. You can find out more about the Sharpham Trust, including their virtual retreats on their website, here.
If you are able to support them so that they can continue their work, you can visit their crowdfunder here.
