Parkdean Resorts in North Devon have been helping the local community during the lockdown by donating their stocks of food.

Bideford Bay, Ruda Bay and Challaborough Holiday Parks have between them donated over £2,000 worth of food to Barnstaple’s Food Bank, North Devon Hospices, North Devon’s Freedom Centre, Caen School and the Ivybridge Food Bank.
Following the Government’s enforced lockdown, the teams at the park decided to donate these essential resources to community groups. As they had been gearing up for a busy Easter holiday, they had full stocks of fresh items which they didn’t want to go to waste and parks up and down the country have also donated household items including toilet rolls and hand wash to medical facilities, food banks and schools.
Speaking to reporters, Jason Hopkins from Bideford Bay Holiday Park, said: “We’re all proud to be part of the community and contribute to the local economy so we wanted to make sure we’re still able to give back when the park is closed. We’ve all seen how much demand there has been at food banks, so we were more than happy to do our bit to support Barnstaple Food Bank.”
