Devon is full of beautiful spots that will really spruce up your Instagram feed no matter what time of year you visit. Whether you’re a pro or an amateur with a camera, you won’t need a bright blue sky to make these locations look good on the gram, even in the middle of winter! Here are four of our favourite Instagram spots for you to explore this winter.

Fingle Woods

You’ll find these woods in the Teign Valley right on the border of Dartmoor. The site is managed by the National Trust and Woodland Trust and is located just downstream of the Fingle Bridge.

Valley of the Rocks

Located in Lynmouth, this area is known for its dramatic vistas and its colony of free roaming goats. Whatever time of year you visit, this valley on the Exmoor region offers some stunning photo ops, but in the winter, the weather tends to make the whole thing look a little more dramatic.

Blackchurch Rock

Speaking of drama, this is one of the most dramatic sights you can find. It looks like it should be in Westeros rather than Devon and it has a very Winterfell look about it, especially at this time of year. You can find this rock formation on Mouthmill Beach, near Hartland.

Lydford Gorge

Did you know that this is the deepest gorge in the south west? Well now you do! Managed by the National Trust, there are several amazing walks around the Gorge that are perfect for those crisp, winter days. Make sure to look out for the White Lady waterfall and the Tunnel Falls walkway – both are great for photo ops!
