If you’re lucky enough to be spending Valentine’s Day in Devon no doubt you’ll already have a romantic time planned from where you’re staying to where you eat but if you want some suggestions of other things to do while in Devon, we’ve got you covered!
Devon is quickly becoming one of the top places in the UK for producing drinks, from wines to gins to just about everything in between you can find distilleries and vineyards all over the county that you can tour. Many of these organisations not only offer you the chance to see where and how your favourite drinks are made, but you can also have a go at making your own and of course, sampling the various flavours that are being worked on – it’s a great day out for those of you who enjoy a tipple together.
We all know that flowers are a staple gift on Valentine’s Day so why not take it up a notch by taking your loved one to a garden where you can see lots of plants and flowers? The gardens at RHS Rosemoor and Fursdon House are just two of the incredible places you can go or simply head to one of the many parks and open spaces and just enjoy the outdoors together.
To create some wonderful memories to share, why not take a trip to some of Devon’s more secluded and hidden gems? Places like the Whitelady Waterfall at Lydford Gorge, Whistman’s Woods on Dartmoor or the bays and coves around Shalton are all picturesque and secretive places to spend a few hours.
Devon’s award-winning local produce is one of the main reasons why there are so many well known chefs operating in the area – while we’re sure you already have your dinner plans down, why not take part in a course or demonstration together with one of our celebrity chefs? A number of restaurants and other organisations hold cookery courses and taster sessions, so keep your eyes peeled for those offering a chance to learn from the best this Valentine’s Day.
