There are so many reasons why we think you should head to Devon over the summer months, but we’ve narrowed it down to five of the most important.
The weather

Devon is one of the warmest places in the UK and it is in part thanks to the warm climate that the locally produced foods and drinks are so good! The south coast of Devon is one of the best places to go for a warm, sunny break.
Postcard Perfect Places

Devon is full of beautiful places including quaint villages, like Clovelly and Cockington that are perfect for strolling around on a warm day. Other villages that are worth a visit include Appledore and Lynton and Lynmouth, especially if you want to take a few photos and feel like you’ve been transported back to a simpler time. These villages are the perfect place for finding a cosy tea room and settling in for a cream tea!
The best ice cream in the UK.
Look, we’re not bragging here but Devon is world renowned for its deliciously creamy dairy products and it is that same cream and milk that goes into the ice cream you can find at resorts all over the county. There are even special ice cream flavours for dogs for you to find!

We all know ice cream tastes best when it is combined with sea views and Devon’s beaches are some of the best in the UK. Many of them have been awarded Blue Flag status and with the varied landscape, you’ll find sandy ones, pebbled ones, ones perfect for surfing, ones perfect for relaxing and ones great for rock pooling. There are even beaches with cafes and restaurants right on the water front so you don’t even need to leave!
Plenty of unique things to do…
Ok, so you’re bored of the same old holiday traditions, so why not seek out some more unusual things to occupy yourself? You’ll find loads of them in Devon, with everything from honey farms to visit to accommodation comprising of safari tents, there are plenty of interesting alternatives to the usual holiday fare right here in Devon.
