The Sharpham Trust have been on the forefront of mindfulness and well-being for many years with people coming from all over to refresh and rejuvenate at their estate on the edge of Totnes.
Recently, The Times’ Educational Supplement featured Sharpham House and their wellness retreats for the work they do to help teachers suffering from burn out due to their hectic jobs. The supplement mentions how changes in the school system have caused many teachers to suffer from ‘burn out’ as they try to keep up with full on schedules. Because of this, this February half term, the Sharpham Trust ran their first mindfulness retreat specifically aimed at teachers. The course ran for five days and allowed those attending to practise mindfulness in the beautiful Devon countryside with two experienced mindfulness teachers leading them.
