Devon celebrates after gaining 14 Blue Flags for its beaches

It has been revealed that fourteen of Devon’s beaches have been awarded Blue Flag status for 2019. The independent award is given to beaches in the UK which have a high quality of cleanliness, appropriate signage, are accessible and run educational activities for the local community and visitors.
As was expected, some of North Devon’s beautiful beaches were named, alongside a number of beaches in the Torbay region.

The fourteen Blue Flag Beaches are:
- Westward Ho!, North Devon
- Croyde Bay, North Devon
- Sandy Bay, Exmouth
- Exmouth
- Dawlish Warren
- Oddicombe Beach, Torbay
- Meadfoot Beach, Torbay
- Breakwater Beach, Torbay
- Blackpool Sands, Dartmouth
- Challaborough near Kingsbridge
- Teignbridge Town
- Broadsands
- Preston Sands
- Torre Abbey Sands
