Plymouth’s History Festival is returning to the city running from 4th to 31st May at a range of venues and locations across Britain’s Ocean City.
The Festival began in 2013 and aims to promote Plymouth’s varied history to a wider audience. Since the first festival, it has grown and over the years has featured hundreds of events which have been attended by thousands of people.
This year’s festival will be focusing on the themes of Empowerment, Journeys, the Great Outdoors and of course, celebrating Plymouth. Like previous years, there is a wide range of events and activities going on throughout the length of the festival. Visitors can look forward to exhibitions and displays, workshops and musical performances covering topics such as the famous naval dockyard, the Mayflower, commemorations of Devon’s involvement with D-Day and the city’s history of pirates among other subjects.
