2nd April 2019
Categories: Visitor News
BBC2 viewers may have noticed Babbacombe Model Village having a starring role in adverts for Don’t Forget the Driver, a new comedy show coming to the channel on 9th April. The series stars Toby Jones and virtually all of episode five was filmed at the Model Village, along with scenes at Babbacombe Cliff Railway.
The series is described as being a dark comedy set in Bognor Regis and follows the life of Peter Green, a coach driver who spends his days ferrying tourists around the country. Filming at the Model Village took place over three days during October of 2018 and everyone on the team is looking forward to seeing it on the silver screen. It’s not the first time the attraction just outside of Torquay has appeared on television, you may remember some of the Little Enders, the miniature characters from the model village’s EastEnders set were featured on the Graham Norton Show as part of the 30th anniversary celebrations for the soap. The Model Village was also featured on Holiday of my Lifetime on the BBC with Matt Allwright and Len Goodman and the One Show, where they followed the bird activity at the site.
Don’t forget to set your recorders for episode five of Don’t Forget the Driver!
