Festival season is almost upon us so it’s time for us to tell you about the whole range of festivals that you can find in Devon!
Devon is home to festivals of every kind, so whatever your tastes and budgets, you’ll find a festival that suits you!

Firstly, while arguably the world’s most famous festival is going on over the border in Somerset, the similarly named Glas-Denbury is returning to Devon this July. This award-winning event is a festival like no other, based on the edge of Dartmoor, this festival is all about music and the arts and showcases the best of the west from its creativity to its food, music, entertainment and people.
Dart Music Festival is an annual three day festival now in its 22nd year. Head to Dartmouth this May to experience over 100 performances spanning almost every musical genre you can think of! Plus it’s all free! What more could you want from a family friendly day out? The festival has a whole host of activities and events during the weekend including storytelling, dance displays and workshops.

For those of you who love folk music, Sidmouth’s Folk Festival takes place on the first week on August every year. It’s been part of the town’s calendar since the 1950s and is still going strong today! Make sure to keep checking our what’s on pages for all the latest news on the line up and more!
Festivals aren’t just about music, there are festivals for everything including food, farming and literature. Budleigh Salterton Literary Festival is a popular festival that gives visitors a chance to hear inspiring talks, take part in readings and enjoy conversations with talented authors, scientists, playwrites and more! The festival takes place in September in the east Devon coastal town of Budleigh Salterton.

In October is the Powderham Food Festival where the South West’s finest food and drink producers return on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th October to Powderham Castle with plenty to do for the whole family. Abbfest in Newton Abbot is a beer and cider festival that raises money for local good causes. This year’s event promises over 200 locally brewed ales and 30 ciders, plus a whole host of west country producers offering the very best that Devon has to give. If you’re not into ale or cider, you don’t need to worry, they also have wines, pimms and prosecco for you to enjoy!

A festival in everything but name is the Devon’s County Show, this is one of Devon’s largest events taking place annually and showcasing all aspects of life and work in the county, as well as entertainment, shopping and amazing food. You’ll find it at Westpoint near Exeter.
