Come and enjoy some Easter fun on the South Devon Railway this year.
With up to three engines in steam, including visitor, 109-year old Andrew Barclay Caledonia Works, carrying out shunting displays on Sunday and Monday, and trains all day, every day, including auto (push and pull) trains, there will be plenty going on.
There’s a wonderful Easter Egg hunt for the children and the miniature railway and garden railways will both be in operation. You will also have the opportunity to experience the brand new children’s play area.
An archive film show of the railway’s re-opening 50 years ago in 1969 will be going every day in the newly restored Cinema Van.
On Easter Sunday and Easter Monday the Devon Vintage Car Club have organised a display of classic cars and motor bikes. Highlights include a 1930 Ford Model ‘A’ Phaeton , 1927 Morris Cowley, 1929 Swift 10, 1933 Austin 12/4 Van, 1931 Ford Model A Roadster and plenty more. Motorbikes include a 1924 Royal Enfield and two Brough Superiors (the marque favoured by Lawrence of Arabia!).
