When you come to a county as diverse as Devon, it is easy to feel overwhelmed with everything there is to see and do. Luckily, there are a number of organisations that offer organised trips and sight-seeing tours to help you see as much of this glorious county as possible during your stay.
There are lots of fun ways to see the region and plenty of interesting tours and trails to join, including walking tours, wildlife tours, cycling tours and of course, being a coastal region, plenty of water tours.
These kinds of tours are perfect for those of you who are into the great outdoors and here in Devon, there is an extensive selection of organisations offering different, fun ways of exploring the county.

If you want to spend as much time as possible on the water, you’ll be spoiled for choice with the amount of tours and sightseeing opportunities available.
For example, Roadford Lake, in the beautiful surroundings of the Wolf Valley, is a great place to visit during your trip to Devon. If you like doing your own thing, you can explore by yourself, but for those of you that want something more structured, you can head to their activity centre and enjoy an adventure like no other. Explore the lake by kayak or paddleboard, go wildlife spotting in a canoe or just spend time together as a family taking part in activities such as sailing, archery and more. The area surrounding the lake is beautiful and getting the see the scenery from the water is a fantastic way to spend a few hours.
Similarly, if you are pretty confident on the water, you might want to check out the Devon Canoe and Rowing Boat Hire in Tiverton, they offer the hire of a range of different boats allowing you to explore the Grand Western Canal and enjoy sightseeing at your own pace. Also in Tiverton is the historic Horse Drawn Barge, one of the most interesting attractions in this region, you can take in the sights from the river, while being pulled along the tow path by some beautiful horses. It isn’t just the horses that bring visitors to the Canal, there are several attractions in and around the area that are well worth the visit.

In Exmouth, you’ll find Stuart Line Cruises, a family run business that offers a whole range of different cruises, including day trips and special events, giving you the chance to see the region’s amazing coastlines from the water. If you head to the region during the summer you’ll be able to book onto the cruises that take in the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Jurassic Coast and the South Devon Coastline.
