Now the weather is getting warmer and the nights are getting lighter, it is the perfect time to start exploring some of the walking trails in Devon, whether you’re looking for something challenging or just a gentle wander around some beautiful scenery, you’ll find somewhere that suits you. We thought we’d get you started by listing some of our favourite towns in Devon to join a coastal path:

Salcombe

Walking around the coast at Salcombe will give you stunning views of the Jurassic Coast. Expect to see dramatic cliffs, incredible views and a fossil or two.

Join the South West Coast path in Woolacombe and see amazing coastal views and some of the best beaches in the north of Devon, including the sand dunes at Braunton Burrows, said to be the largest in the UK!

brixham

Brixham

There’s a reason why Brixham is famous for its fresh sea food, the coast is easily accessible and there are a number of walks that will take you along the beach as well as past some of the town’s historical buildings. The walk around the Harbour will lead you to Berry Head where you’ll find a nature reserve.

budleigh salterton

Budleigh Salterton

Head to Budleigh Salterton for a waterside stroll that gives ample opportunity for bird watching and seeing wildlife. The walks around this part of Devon also gives you views of the Jurassic Coast and the Otter Estuary where you can spot several species of bird.
