A leading UK magazine has compiled a list of the eight best food festivals in the UK and Devon has made the list three times!

First on the list was River Cottage Festival which takes place at The River Cottage in Axminster in the summer. River Cottage was founded by celebrity chef Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall and promises two days of cooking masterclasses, street food, demonstrations, live music, yoga and of course, amazing food! Make sure to keep your eyes peeled for the full line up for this year’s event, last year Bake Off’s Prue Leith was there!

Dartmouth Food Festival also made the list. This festival runs in the autumn and the majority of the exhibitors are local making it ideal for anyone looking for amazing locally produced food and drink. You’ll find everything from freshly caught fish to cider made in the area. The festival also includes workshops and entertainment, it’s a fabulous day out!
The list also mentioned a new comer to the food events calendar, F.E.A.S.T Project at Huntsham Court. Though not a festival in the traditional sense, it is a pretty cool way to spend the day! Guests to F.E.A.S.T will be put into teams and taken out into the Exe Valley to find their own ingredients to be prepared by the mansion’s chef. So, if you’re someone who enjoys fishing, foraging or fancy learning more about butchery, this is the event for you.
