After the success of last year’s celebration, National B&B week kicks off on the 18th March giving owners of B&Bs, guesthouses and smaller accommodation the chance to show off and you guys the chance to experience some of the best B&Bs that Devon has to offer!
According to the National B&B Week’s website, there are over 20,000 B&Bs in the UK and they generate over £2 billion annually to the economy – which is pretty impressive.
There are a number of B&Bs that are actively participating in this week, but here are some of our favourites, across Devon for you to check out!

Starting in the south of Devon, there are loads of B&Bs and Guesthouses giving you the chance to explore the English Riviera and the surrounding areas. In Newton Abbott, you’ll find Amberley B&B, this former farm house has a traditional thatched roof and a Cordon Bleu trained cook preparing all the breakfasts. The B&B is just a stone’s throw from the village of Chudleigh and areas like Exeter are in easy reach for anyone wanting to venture into the city.

Also in Newton Abbott, you’ll find the AA five star rated Bulleigh Barton Manor, originally built in the 1400s, you’ll see far reaching views across the countryside and be greeted with home-made cakes in the guest’s room and if you arrive in the afternoon, you’ll be welcomed with a home-made cream tea!
Driftwood B&B
Head into the seafood capital of Brixham and stay at the Driftwood Bed and Breakfast, which was featured on Channel 5’s Our Dream Hotel and is right in the centre of Brixham Harbour. Breakfast here is created with locally sourced ingredients and if you find you’re still hungry and want some more of that delicious fresh sea food, you’re never too far away from shops, pubs, restaurant and coffee bars. Another option for those looking for a B&B in Brixham is Beacon House. This old Victorian House which has been refurbished to include all its original charm with mod cons. There are beautiful views of the Harbour and guests can find parking and wifi included.
You won’t be surprised to find that the English Riviera is full of delightful B&Bs. You might have only ever really heard of Fawlty Towers, but we can assure you that Torquay’s many establishments are much more comfortable and welcoming.

Heathcliff House in Torquay is in the heart of the English Riviera and is a great base for exploring the surrounding towns. Breakfast, parking and wifi are all included and for those that like their history is a great option, especially for crime fans – it was once a haunt of Agatha Christie’s!
