Visit Devon members were honoured on 7th February at the South West Tourism Awards, with Devon businesses being featured in most of the award categories.
In the accommodation awards, Lee Byre received Bronze in the B&B/Guesthouse of the Year Award, Bovey Castle won Gold for Large Hotel of the Year and Lympstone Manor was top in Small Hotel/Boutique category winning Gold. When it came to Holiday Parks, Devon featured twice, with Cofton Holidays getting Gold and Lady's Mile Holiday Park winning Bronze. It was the same in Glamping and Alternative Accommodation category with Longlands winning Gold and Devon Yurt, Bronze. Langstone Manor Park received Silver in the Touring, Camping and Caravanning category and North Devon's Millbrook Estate was Gold in the Self Catering Award.
It was the first of two awards for Millbrook Estate as they also took home Silver for Dog Friendly Business of the Year.
Bovey Castle also got another mention, with their Great Western Restaurant at Bovey Castle getting Bronze for Restaurant and Bistro of the Year, Glazebrook House was awarded Gold.
In Responsible and Ethical Tourism, The Old Kennels were recognised with a Bronze Award and Pentillie Castle took home Bronze for the Business Tourism and Venue Award.
Unique Devon Tours were the big winners in the Guided Tour of the Year category, receiving Gold. The Donkey Sanctuary were named Bronze for Large Attraction of the Year and the team who brought Glasdenbury to the region receoved Bronze for Tourism Event of the Year.
