Beer Village had a sizzling summer this year. In addition to the many events taking place and the amazing annual Beer Regatta, a brand new food festival, Beer Bites, created a big sizzle in August.
Thousands of people turned out to enjoy delicious street food including pizza, pulled and BBQ pork, fish feasts and vegetarian delights. Alongside the hot food were a variety of food producers selling locally reared meats, organic cheeses, fishcakes, fresh salads, as well a scrumptious cakes.
The Festival was well supported by local businesses with Beer’s own Smugglers Kitchen and Beer Fisheries taking part, plus Kennos beach cafes staying open late. Various musician brightened the day with music including, Jessica Claire, Phoebe Capri and headline band Big Whiskey who entertained the crowds with their smooth woody blend of hand played acoustic rock and blues covers.
Village Manager, Karin Frewin commented "We’re delighted that so many people came along and enjoyed Beer Bites. It was an outstanding success. It was great to have such good support from local businesses, local traders and brilliant local musicians who all helped create a fantastic day. We also had a great team of volunteers who helped on the day"
Beer Bites will be back next year in May and September. The event is part of brand new a series of events for Beer Village which have been created to invigorate the Village as part of an overall CCT, VM, and Parish Council three-year plan.
