Conquer your fears
Scared of heights? Of a certain animal? Of ghosts? You can tackle each of these fears in Devon this year. Take a trip with Aerosaurus Balloons or do some climbing at Go Ape or Tree Surfers. Spend time with animals at Paignton Zoo, Exmoor Zoo, World of Country Life or one of the many other animal and conservation parks in the region. Or if ghosts are your thing, spend a night or two on the moor or head to some of our spookier accommodation providers or castles!

Unleash your creative side
Devon is full of creativity, from the quirky shops of Totnes and Dartington, to attractions like The Paint Hub, the Devon Guild of Craftsmen or places like Dartington Crystal and Steve Robinson’s Glass. There are a whole host of theatres and galleries in the region who not only show off some amazing local art, but also hold workshops and activities so you can give it a go too!

Learn a new skill
There are an abundance of workshops and courses available to you all over Devon, take part in a cookery course by one of the region’s celebrity chefs, brew your own gin at Plymouth Gin or at the Salcombe Distillery Co. Maybe you want to spruce up your gardening skills? Head to RHS Rosemoor for a few tips and grab some plants from one of the regular plant sales going on around the area’s gardens. The Old Kennels are another great place to learn a new skill particularly if you’re interested in history, their courses will show you how to create traditional crafts!
Get fit
Whether you want to go for long rambling walks in beautiful countryside or challenging coastal paths, you’ll find plenty of opportunity to do that around Devon. If you really want to work, visit one of the county’s gyms or swimming pools, take up some horse riding or if you want to detox first, there are plenty of spas to enjoy.
