Camping in North Devon

There is something very British and charming about a camping holiday, if you’re looking for a camping holiday with a beautiful coast line, you’ll want to head to North Devon and to one of these fine establishments.

Newberry Valley Park is a family-run caravan park and campsite based on the edge of Combe Martin. Basing yourself here will mean you are just five minutes from beautiful beaches, lovely village shops and of course, the local pubs. It is also a dog-friendly site so is perfect for anyone who wants their pet to join them! You’ll want to explore the area once you’ve set up your pitch, luckily you’re close to Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park which is home to some of the most endangered animals on earth as well as some animatronic dinosaurs!

Nestled in the heart of the north Devon countryside is Stowford Farm Meadows. This camping and caravanning site is a great place to go if you want a rural retreat, but also want to be well connected. The site sits at the end of its own long, private road giving you easy access to the top tourist spots, like Woolacombe, Barnstaple, Ilfracombe and Combe Martin! Being this close to so many of popular destinations in this part of Devon means that there are plenty of places to visit and sample the local food. Watermouth Family Theme Park and Castle is a must visit for anyone with kids, not only can they brush up on their history, but they can have some fun at the theme park!

The Camping and Caravanning Club has a great site at Umberleigh, the site can be found in the Taw Valley and has some incredible views, as well as its own onsite facilities like a pool, tennis courts and a TV lounge. If you want to head out and explore what North Devon has to offer, you can head to RHS Garden Rosemoor where you can look at some incredible planted displays, as well as enjoy a spot of tea. Quince Honey Farm is also nearby and is a have for anyone who loves honey!

There is also a great family friendly site at Holsworthy, Hedley Wood. The park is on the border between Devon and Cornwall giving you the best of both worlds! It is just minutes from Bude, so you can sample cream teas done both the Devon and the Cornwall way! It’s the perfect location for walkers, cyclists and anyone else who loves the great outdoors. Of course, you are more than welcome to explore the nearby Cornish towns, but we would implore you to take in some of the beautiful areas of Devon that surround the site, like Clovelly, which is a picturesque fishing village that you have to see to believe. The nearby activities at Roadford Lake are also a good shout for anyone who wants to see Devon by boat and if you don’t want to use the onesite facilities for dinner, head into nearby Westward Ho! to the Waterfront Inn where you can eat with glorious views of the surrounding beach.
